About Me

I have been a licensed cosmetologist for about 6 years now and I absolutely love it.  I received my education at Douglas J Aveda Institute in East Lansing MI.  It was one of my best experiences in my life.  I worked for their salon for a few years and have worked here and there when moving around.  Most recently though I have been working with photographers, and have traveled locally to do weddings as well. 

My husband joined the Army and we went from our small town in Michigan to Schweinfurt Germany and we are now in Grafenwoehr Germany.  I absolutely love it here and we are fully enjoying everything we get to experience.  Living here puts a challenge on doing hair the way I used to but last year I took some education and obtained more knowledge in Makeup Artistry.  I plan to continue working with photographers doing hair and makeup for photo shoots.  I also enjoy doing hair and makeup for formal events such as military balls, weddings, prom, etc. 

I am the mother of two wonderful children.  I have a 9 year old son and 5 year old daughter.  They are my world.  I .  "While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about." So true.  That pretty much sums it up :) They remind me to laugh at the small things, take in all the beauty in the world, and to just be carefree and enjoy life.  

While living in Germany I am hoping to get more of a portfolio of my work together and post before and after pictures and some of the work I do with makeup as I learn new things.  Once we are back in the United States I hope to continue working with photographers and continue taking classes to help me grow professionally.   I have always loved the beauty industry and I am grateful to have supportive friends and family that have helped me make it all possible.  


When I was in the salon, I loved the relationships I had with my clients, some of them become great friends.  I would always get asked how to do certain things with makeup, hair, or we would talk about new trends, favorite perfumes, t.v. shows, recipes.....I mean the list goes on.  I MISS THAT.  I loved helping others and sharing my knowledge of the beauty world with them.

So......... basically I started this blog to share all things hair and makeup, all about life and being an army wife. :)
